Photographing Miami weddings are so much fun (family, beach, friends, beach, weather, beach). I love New York, but its got nothing on Miami in February. We have been looking forward to Carly & Andy’s wedding ever since we photographed their engagement in DUMBO last summer.
The ceremony was held at Coral Gables Congregational Church, the same church where Carly’s parents tied the knot. The service was short and sweet, but full of love and emotion. The reception was held at Carly & Andy’s new house in Miami.
The backyard was beautifully decorated with bistro lights and lanterns around the pool which looked out to the beach and lake. Carly’s cousin, Lisa, made three amazing wedding cakes — all diy but looked like they were baked by an expert. After the cake cutting everyone went out to the beach to light Chinese flying lanterns — which would have made such a cool photo — but the wind kicked up and put a kibosh on the lanterns. Even with the wind, the night was pretty perfect.
